LIDAR data is really a big win for hunters and for the AI because it's just absolutely incredible. Looking at these fine-detailed elevation maps, we can pick up insane amounts of detail in the land. A great example of this is that often, when you zoom in enough, you can even see trails and roads -- ones that don't even show up on normal satellite imagery and aren't marked on any maps.

I think this has created a noticeable change in the performance of the AI. If you look at the images below, you'll see a normal terrain map and the same LIDAR map. It really solves for problems like this, where contours and shading simply don't tell us enough. Also, hopefully you like the added comments regarding the elevation map to really help pinpoint spots.

As far as coverage, I am not exactly sure how much of the U.S. the LIDAR data covers, but it seems to be a lot. I haven't hit a blank spot yet! Feel free to just use the maps for fun if you want 🤣
